Decarbonising Building Industry
According to research from the International Energy Agency, the building industry is responsible for one-third of all carbon emissions worldwide. Predominantly energy consumed in building operation is a major contributor, alongside used construction materials like cement, concrete, steel and aluminum and construction methodologies that also have high carbon footprint.

Our Sustainability Pledge
Sustainability is at the heart of our approach. We’ve made conscious efforts to reduce our environmental impact without compromising on quality. Here are some of the steps we’ve taken:
- Eco-Friendly Name Tags: We’ve opted for paper name tags, avoiding plastic alternatives.
- Sustainable Lanyards: Our lanyards are made from bamboo, a renewable and biodegradable resource.
- Locally Sourced Catering: All food is locally sourced, with 60% of the menu being vegetarian to further reduce our environmental footprint.
- Reusable Tableware: We’ve chosen ceramic, reusable cutlery and plates, steering clear of single-use options.
- Digital Conference Proceedings: To reduce waste, conference proceedings are online. We’ve avoided distributing USB drives and gift bags.
- Reusable Banners and Backdrops: Our banners and backdrops are designed to be reused for future events, without dates or location-specific details.
- Tree Donation on Behalf of Speakers: In appreciation of our speakers, we are donating trees in their honour, contributing to offsetting some of the conference’s emissions.
These measures reflect our commitment to sustainability and our dedication to reducing the environmental impact of our event.
